Thottappalley

Kumarakom
An archipelago with a difference, Kumarakom consist of several islands located on the pristine Vembanad Lake in the Kuttanad district. The most delightful tourist attraction of this place is a bird sanctuary which offers ample opportunities to an ornithologist to observe the rare species of migratory birds like wild duck, tea, waterfowl, cuckoo duck, darters, egrets and herons. Alumkadavu
The village that once saw bulk construction of Kettuvallams by the entire village families, Alumkadavu retains its calm and serenity through the ages, in spite of all the development and progress it has seen. The hamlet is 23 kilometers away from Kollam and falls half way enroute Kollam to Alleppey. The prominent feature of Alumkadavu backwaters is a floating conference hall with sophisticated public address system, a dias and seating arrangement for as many as 35 people in a go.
