The monuments of South India are entirely different with respect to style and architecture, when compared with the north Indian monuments. It comprises mainly of the Dravidian architecture and style, which is its hallmark. There are a large number of historic and ancient monuments in south Indian states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Of these Tamil Nadu is well known for its ancient temples, which are of unique style and are dated back to thousands of years. Similary Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala also have its own share of ancient monuments and remains in the form of forts, palaces, churches, temples and mosques.
