Day 01 - Chennai

Get down at Chennai International airport and be escorted by our representative to the hotel pre-booked just for you. By afternoon, leave for sight seeing tour of Chennai and discover the capital city of Tamil Nadu, also known as the Gateway to the South and representative of a distinctive culture, in sharp contrast with North India.


Day 02 - Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram, 140 km

Early in the the morning, drive all the way to Kanchipuram, the city of thousand temples. Situated 70 kms west of Mahabalipuram, the city is one of the seven sacred cities of Hindus. The city has a rich historical background connecting it to the Chola dynasty. A former capital of the early Cholas way back in the 2nd Century BC, the city used to be a prominent seat for learning Tamil. The city holds pilgrimage value for Buddhists, Jains and Hindus, alike.

Day 03 - Mahabalipuram - Tanjore, 280 km

Depart early in the day for Tanjore, which is a pleasant 280 km drive from Mahabalipuram. As Pondicherry lies enroute, pay a visit to the former French colony with sight seeing opportunities including Rai Nivas, the Sacred Heart Church and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram.


Day 04 - Tanjore - Trichy, 56 km

Leave for sight seeing early in the morning at Tanjore. The place is famous for music, musical instruments, dance, and traditional handicrafts, and not to mention the famous thousand years old Brahadeeswarar Temple, constructed by the Chola King Raja Rajan. Day 05 - Trichy - Madurai, 142 km

Early in the morning, visit the Rock Fort Temple at Trichy. The wonderful landmark of Trichy is situated at the banks of river Kaveri and stands 84 meter tall. Some 3800 million years old, the rock fort is more famous for its temple at the top led to by 344 steps and the inscriptions on the temple dating back to the 3rd century BC.  Follow the visit by a good feel drive to Madurai. Check-in at the hotel and stay overnight.


Day 06 - Madurai - Chennai flight 1350/1445 hrs

Leave hotel at Madurai for the city’s sightseeing. Also known as Athens of the East, Madurai is believed to be more than 2500 years old. The city is named after Mathuram or drops of nector that fell from Lord Shiva’s locks when he came over to the land to bless his devotees undertaking construction of temple. The second largest city on the banks of river Vigai, the temple is home to popular Meenakshi-Sundareswara Temple.


Day 07 - Madurai - Chennai

Leave Madurai for the airport and fly over to Chennai for onwards journey.
